Meet the President

Meet the Chamber President

What a marvelous 2017 Membership Celebration night we had to end January! Melva Kinkel and her Celebration committee team did a splendid job planning the Mardi Gras Masquerade theme. The Chamber girls, Jennifer, Hope, and Ashton, also came through with flying colors once again. Kudos to all the attendees, volunteers, and donors that made the night amazing.

American City Bank and Tennova Healthcare Harton were our prime sponsors and we thank them for their commitments.   Silver Spoon Catering provided a tasty Cajun menu and RJ and Sande Hayes went above and beyond with an array of dazzling, festive decorations.

The THS Jazz Band set the tone for the evening proving that Mardi Gras is all about jazz. MC Bryan McAdams, lauded L&H Distributing, Hayes Travel, John Greeter, Weichert Realtors, Joe Orr & Associates, Christopher Equipment, and KK’s Loans, Music, & Jewelry for their key roles in making the event successful, along with photographer Chris Barstad of the Tullahoma News.

Retiring TACC Executive Director, Diane Bryant, highlighted 2016’s successes, and 2016 TACC President Bill Yoder gave his farewell speech before presenting the President’s Award to Jackie Lendley and the Ambassador of the Year Award to Danielle Middleton. Hope Sartain was introduced as the new TACC Executive Director, and I gave the 2017 Vision, before Diane was surprised with a ‘Purple Reign’ achievement award for her 12-year reign of service excellence to the TACC and our community.

Diane presented the 2016 award winners: CEO Business Partner of the Year: Ascend Federal Credit Union (Greg Davis); 2016 Business of the Year: Tullahoma Funeral Home; 2016 Extra Miler of the Year: Tullahoma Utilities Authority and Tullahoma Public Works for their superb response to the November tornado. Member’s Choice Small Business of the Year: Rodney’s Body Shop; and Citizen of the Year: Cat Murray. Congratulations to all the nights’ big winners!

Our silent and live auctions were successful because of those who toiled collecting door prizes, and generous businesses who donated them and our auctioneers: BB Brown and Joe Orr. This event proved that TEAMWORK does make the DREAMWORK! Great job everyone.

If you are not currently a Chamber member, we invite you to be. Many great benefits can be realized as part of a team which consists of over 400+ businesses and individual memberships. Join us on Tuesday, February 28th for our monthly Coffee co-hosted by 1st Choice Realtor and Daddy Billy’s at Daddy Billy’s. See you then!

Sincerely,

Ken Keller
