41A Music Festival

7th Annual 41A Music & Arts Festival

Sept. 23 & 24, 2016

Alabama-born country music singer and songwriter Glen Templeton will headline this year’s 41A Music and Arts Festival, set for the streets of downtown Tullahoma Sept. 23-24, the Highland Rim Kiwanis Club has announced.

Known for his singles “Ball Cap,” “Let Her Go,” “Sing That Song Again,” and “Country Boys for Life,” Templeton returns to Tullahoma (he performed at the 2014 festival) to take the festival stage Saturday night following “American Idol” season four runner-up Bo Bice.

Kicking off the Saturday lineup will be 18-year-old Marion County blues-rock guitarist Jesse Black, who takes the stage at noon.

Black will be followed by four-man Indiana band The Hart Strings, The Bobby Tomlinson Band, festival favorites Bad Monkey, and San Diego country artist Alaina Blair.

Van Halen tribute band Fan Halen will headline the Friday night slate of performances, following the return engagement of heavily favored Southern alternative powerhouse Stagger Moon Band.

Nashville-based country duo Sweet Honey kicks off the annual event at 6 o’clock Friday night.

Now in its seventh year, the 41A Music and Arts Festival is a significant source of fundraising for the Highland Rim Kiwanis Club, which uses the proceeds to support area children’s charities.

With donations collected during the free community event in the first six years, the club has been able to contribute more than $66,000 to charities including Tullahoma Day Care, Karing for Kids, 5Loaves4Kids, Coffee County Cares for Families, CASA Works, Talk About Curing Autism, Haven of Hope, and Coffee County Imagination Library.

Volunteers are always needed to help make the festival a success. Those willing to help can reach out via Facebook or on the Highland Rim Kiwanis Club website.

The club meets at noon each Thursday at Lakewood Golf and Country Club. Anyone interested in getting involved with the festival or with the Kiwanis mission to “change the world, one child and one community at a time” is invited to join.
